I read in another post that you had to specify to keep the string neck ties when you send a doll to the doll hospital. Sure enough, I check our Molly and she has a plastic tie! I'm disappointed about this, but it's been over 7 months, so I don't think they will fix it. Are they doing this so people can't repair their own AG's?

Hi! I sent Felicity in and received her with a plastic tie as well...Grrrrrrrrr. I forgot to tell them to tie it back with string. Maybe I could thread one through it?!

Sure, you can thread a string through the casing instead of the nylon tie-wrap. They use the nylon tie-wraps simply because they are easier and quicker to apply (read, "cheaper").

After reading this thread, I decided I better check our new dolls - Addy & Kit - both are clearly marked as made in China & have strings. I'm seriously thinking of getting Kirsten while at least some of the dolls have ties. Not that I ever intend to work on the doll myself, but at least it's a nice option. BTW. both of the dolls are very nice - I opened Addy first & was just so pleased that I was a bit scared to check Kit - but she is beautiful as well. Her legs are tighter than Addy's - but Addy's aren't bad enough to send her back - . Now I just have to keep them under wraps until Xmas....

Anyone ever felt a bit jealous of their on children - and I don't even really play with mine Our trip to with Felicity to Williamsburg was cancelled, but I'm still hoping...

you can still work on the dolls yourself-
You just have to cut the plastic tie and re-thread it with a new one (you can buy at the store) or a string.
I haven't seen the new plastic ones yet. Our New AGT still came w/ a string.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think the ties they are talking about are just when you send a doll to the hospital for a head replacement, not the ties the doll originally comes with. Or has someone heard something about the brand new dolls having plastic ties?
